Tree Felling / Tree Removal
Tree removal is a common service that many of our customers need at some point. Trees can be removed for a variety of reasons, including storm damage or for due to safety issues, or to allow space for something else.

The process of felling/removing a tree is not as straightforward as cutting it down and taking it away. There are many things to take into consideration before removing a tree, including where the tree is located, size and weight , and what will happen to the remaining stump.  Please visit our tree felling page for more info.

Tree Pruning
When it comes to pruning trees, there are a few things to consider. Firstly, you'll want to determine that the tree is healthy enough to be pruned. You will also need to select the right time of year to do it. You will also need to ascertain which branches to target and how to cut them. Not forgetting to take care of the wound that's left behind.

Crown Lifting & Crown Reduction
Crown lifting and reduction are two regular tree surgery methods. Crown lifting is the process of removing the lower branches from a tree to enhance its appearance and allow for clearance below. A crown reduction involves removing branches from a tree to reduce its height or width. Both procedures are often undertaken for aesthetic purposes or to improve a trees health.

Pollarding
Pollarding is a process where the trunk of a tree is reduced back to a few feet above the tree crown. This is normally carried out every few years to maintain the trees health and to promote growth. Pollarding can be carried out on a variety of trees, but is normally used on fruit trees.

Deadwood/Deadwood Removal
The process of deadwood removal is important for the overall health of a tree. Deadwood is wood that has died and is not serving any purpose on the tree. It can be a danger to people and property and can also be  harbouring pests and diseases.  Removal is a simple process that should be carried by a qualified tree surgeon or arborist.
